VA Work Study
Post Published On:The VA Work Study will provide assistance to the Thomas University Veterans Services and Career Transition Center. Candidates must have thorough communication and listening skills, work ethic, and genuine desire to assist stakeholders with acquiring the services and support offered through the center. Other desired skills include good organizational skills, computer skills, detail oriented, data entry, and a strong customer-service focus.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with administrative tasks associated with recruiting and retention of undergraduate and graduate Veteran students into TU degree programs
- Maintain the TU Vet Center daily operations
- Assist with preparation of reports to the Associate Vice President showing all recruitment and retention activities, outcomes, and follow-up procedures used to increase inquiries
- Open and close TU Vet Center based on approved hours
- Maintain the physical appearance of the center
- Connect students with the appropriate service and/or resources
- Collect all necessary paperwork for processing education benefits
Qualifications:
- Eligible for Veterans Affairs funding
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, Adobe Pro
- Confident interpersonal and customer service skills
- Superior clerical skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or reminders to complete tasks.
- Adherence to professional ethics including confidentiality
- Punctual and industrious work habits
