Scholarships at TU

Scholarships available through Thomas University are listed below. Applications can be completed from October 1 through March 1 each year for the upcoming academic year.

Please note, only students who have been admitted to TU and have an active TU HawkLink account are able to access and submit applications.

How to apply

• Login your HawkLink.
• Click “My Financial Aid.”
• Click “Apply for TU Scholarships.”

Students that are awarded a scholarship will be contacted via their student email address once the scholarship committee has reviewed applications.

In addition to programs listed in the table below, there are a significant number of scholarships available through other organizations. Students should explore possibilities of scholarship funding from community service clubs and organizations, employers, organizations specific to the major you are planning to study, etc.

Bryan	Athletes	$1,225	Must be a baseball player. Must complete FAFSA.
Williams Athletic	Athletes	$1,750	Student-athletes. Must complete FAFSA.
T. Rumble	Business	$1,200	Business major. Must complete FAFSA.
Firman	Education	$1,300	Education major. Must complete FAFSA.
French	Education	$1,000	Education major. Must be a junior or senior at TU. 3.5 GPA or higher. Resident of Thomas, Mitchell, Leon or Madison County. Must complete FAFSA.
Goizueta	Education	$4,000	Hispanic or Latino/a heritage. Preference given to Education majors. Must complete FAFSA.
Hancock	Education	$1,500	Scholarship for teacher education. No honor code violations. Must complete FAFSA.
Nelda Toothman - Teacher Within	Education	Varies	Education major with preference given to non-traditional students enrolled in Elementary Education.
Cecil C McDonald	Education	Varies	Natural born US citizen Resident of Grady County Financial Need Good moral conduct and citizenship Participation in extra curricular activities Involvement in community
10-1 F Scholars	General	$1,940	Be involved in Goal Line Ministries prior academic year. Christian faith, sophomore-senior. No honor code violations. Maintain a 2.5 GPA. Provide statement explaining why you should be selected (250 words minimum). Recommended by the Director of Goal Line Ministries. Must complete FAFSA.
Academic	General	$2,500 - $4,500 depending on GPA	Must have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 or greater. Must enroll full-time. Must complete FAFSA. Open to current year high school seniors only.
Alumni	General	$2,000	TU alumni enrolled in a graduate program at TU. Must complete FAFSA.
Barwick	General	$1,000	Live within a five-mile radius of Barwick. Must work at least part-time. Provide statement explaining why you should be selected (250 words minimum). Contact information for three references (no relatives). Must complete FAFSA.
Bonvillian	General	$700	Preference given to students who have demonstrated or been recommended as having strength of character and/or academic acumen. Must complete FAFSA.
Chapman	General	$1,700	Preference given to Primitive Baptist Church members. Must complete FAFSA.
Dean	General	$4,000	Must have completed at least 60 credit hours toward a bachelor's degree with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Must maintain a 3.25 GPA. Must complete FAFSA.
F. W. Wilson	General	$2,400	Must be in good standing with the university. Must complete FAFSA.
Gould/Waller	General	$2,000	Full-time student. Must complete FAFSA.
Grady County	General	$2,600	No Honor Code violations. Grady County resident. 2.0 GPA. Make contact with sponsor at least once per year. Must complete FAFSA.
Legacy	General	$2,000	Be accepted or currently enrolled at Thomas University. Have at least one parent who received a degree from TU. Must complete FAFSA.
Meigs	General	$1,100	Must be in good standing with the university. Must complete FAFSA.
Williams	General	$1,300	Must be in good standing with the university. Must complete FAFSA.
Zambrano	General	$2,450	Must be in good standing with the university. Must complete FAFSA.
Sam Haskell Scholarship	General	Varies	Sam Haskell founded this annual scholarship with the understanding that many students do not have the financial means to further their education. Sam Haskell is an Emmy nominated producer and founder of Magnolia Hill Productions. He was formerly Worldwide Head of Television at the William Morris Agency and is a graduate of the University of Mississippi. HOPE Scholarship	Georgia Residents	varies	Graduates of a Georgia high school attending a Georgia post-secondary institution.
Balfour	Medical majors	$1,500	Enrolled in a medical program. Must complete FAFSA.
Madis Spire	Medical majors	$1,200	Enrolled in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science or another science major. Must enroll in at least 9 hours per semester and maintain a 2.5 GPA. No honor code violations. Must complete FAFSA.
Georgia HERO Scholarship	Military and dependents	Varies	Member of GA National Guard or GA resident in Reserves who served in a combat zone.
Daugherty	Nursing	$1,000	Submit a brief essay describing career goals and evidence of compassion, sensitivity and commitment to the ideals of the Nursing profession. Have at least a 2.5 GPA. Demonstrate financial need (calculated as unmet need minus financial aid and employer reimbursement). Enroll in at least 9 hours. Must be enrolled in BSN or MSN program. No honor code violations. Must complete FAFSA.
McKenzie Bass	Nursing	$3,300	Enrolled in RN-BSN Program. Must complete FAFSA.
Lettie Pate	Nursing	$4,500	Must be a Christian female who has been accepted to the RN-BSN or MSN program. Must have financial need. Must be a resident of Alabama, Florida or Georgia. Must complete FAFSA.
Wilson Science	Science	$1,650	Science major. Must complete FAFSA.
Chastain	Social Work	$1,000	Social Work Major. Enrolled full-time; rising junior or senior at TU. Must complete FAFSA.
Military Family Connect	Veteran and dependents	up to $3,000	New students only. Child or grandchild of a veteran. Must compete FAFSA. Must enroll full-time.
